The short film Den Rette Gaven (The Right Gift) deals with prejudice in a very funny way. Anette and Lennart are pretty sure their son Kristian is gay, and tries to encourage him to get out of the closet. Directed by Maria Askedal and produced by Johan Kaos, The Right Gift won the audience award during the Skeive Filmer (Queer Films) festival in Oslo in 2010.
The film's music - of which there is a very small amount - is fittingly malplaced: A male's choir singing a folkish "lalala" tune, accompanied by snobbish harpsichord trills. Since we didn't have the budget for a real choir, I had to be the whole choir myself. I just love doing crazy stuff like this.
