This is my third full length stage production based on Henrik Ibsen's PEER GYNT, after 2012's PEER GYNT: UTFOR STUPET and 2013's PEER GYNT: SELVETS KEISER, once again continuing my Peeropolic collaboration with director Svein Sturla Hungnes and choreographer André Danielsen. This time, however, we've also got the magnificent Forsvarets Stabsmusikkorps (The Staff Band of the Norwegian Armed Forces) – indeed one of Norway's very greatest ensembles. What an honour to have my music performed by such a great orchestra! Some music from the two previous two projects have been re-orchestrated and repurposed, some of Edvard Grieg's timeless original stage music for Peer Gynt is also thrown into the mix, and the rest is all new music by me.
The new production has been staged at beautiful Akershus Festning in Oslo, in June 2017 and then again in a slightly updated version (and with more new music) in June 2018 and 2019.
