Could it be possible to create an anti-fascist interactive school performance that trains children in democratic resilience and artistic joy for life? Well, Tigerstadsteatret have certainly given it a go! «The Tiger Troupe Fabularium» is a battle cry for culture’s place in schools.
In this sequel to 2021’s The Tiger Bus Has a Theatre In Its Belly, The Tiger Troupe are celebrating 110 years of the Tiger Bus roaming the streets of Oslo! With songs, music and mighty roars from children, the jaws of the Tiger Bus swing open once again… But who is the strange character emerging from the bus this time? What exactly is a gross national product? One thing is for certain: This celebration will not go entirely according to plan.
Not so much an ordinary theatre play, «The Tiger Troupe Fabularium» is better described as an immersive, parallel-narrative meta-theatre — a boundless, all-hands-on-deck "grand art project" that takes the current climate of cultural decline and funding cuts down to children’s level, turning primary school kids into fearless little art warriors. 🔥
I composed some new songs and score cues, following up on the established soundscape from The Tiger Bus Has a Theatre In Its Belly, in addition to new sound design for an extensive interactive section of the production.
